BBC’s Top Gear, Ken Block, and Ricky Carmichael Video

I am a huge fan of the BBC’s Top Gear car show.  I am also a huge fan of the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) Ricky Carmichael (RC).  I don’t follow rally car racing much, but it’s certainly entertaining.  Well, “Captain Slow,” James May come to California to take a ride with Rally Car racing sensation Ken Block, who in turn mixes up some rally driving with the GOAT. James Stewart Riding at Home

James Stewart is sorely missed at the 2009 Motocross Nationals this year, but seems to be spending most of his time making some great videos and spending time rubbing shoulders with the fans — very cool.  Though he is missed, he’s still feeding the James Steward fans with some much needed and appreciated video as he’s preparing for the X-Games. Kevin Windham at Piru MX Park

I am a huge Kevin Windham fan.  I have been since I got back into riding in 2002.  He’s one of the smoothest riders on the planet.  I just love watching him ride.  I was also very sad that he didn’t race the 2008 AMA Motocross season.  This year it appears that he might be racing it.  I’ve heard nothing that says he’s not, though, I’ve also not heard he would be either, but I hope he is… [Read more →]

CPSC staff recommends against exempting children’s dirt bikes and ATVs from strict anti-lead law

The reason the lead ban, and the reason it’s still in place for youth ATV and Motorcycles has some clarification.  I really hope we can all (I know I’ve asked before) get behind the new bills and urge all of our local government officials to support these new bills so we can stop the madness.  It has gone on long enough. Must See FMX Trick: The “FLAIR”

Man, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything.  I’m not sure anyone cares (but me of course), but life has just been super busy, and I’ve not had much time for much of anything but work and family life.  So I’ll make this one short and sweet.

I’m not normally a big FMX fanboi, but the “Flair” pulled here by Johansson in this video is truely amazing.  These guys really truly are talented. [Read more →]

The Best How to Change a Motorcycle Tire Video

I found it. After some diligent searching on TWMX I was unable to find the video they did a couple years ago about how to change a tire. However, I did some looking on YouTube to see if some how it made it on there, and to my pleasant surprise it did.

How to Change a Motorcycle Tire Video

Again, I found yet another great video by Motosport.com about how to change a tire on your dirt bike. If you are like most people you take you tire to the local shop and pay anywhere from $10 (if you are lucky) on up to $30 to have a tire changed.

In reality, changing a tire is not very difficult IF you know all the tricks to making the job easier. Once you know them you’ll never (we’ll their are still those with money to blow that will pay for it — but those guys are either girls (sorry girls :) ) or wouldn’t be watching this video anyway). Motorcycle Spoke Tightening Video

Motosport.com has got quite a few very good video’s on how to do certain things to a motorcycle, and more specifically dirt bikes.

I found this really good video on how to tighten spokes. Although he uses a “torque wrench” type spoke wrench the same technique applies to using a standard spoke wrench. [Read more →]

Motocross.com’s review of the Easton EXP Bars

While checking out motocross.com today, I came accross a video review they did on the Easton EXP Bars and had to post it.

Since these bars are yet to be available (at least as far as I know), rider reviews are pretty tough to come by. [Read more →]

Excellent Video about Checking and Adjusting Valves

I just came across this really good video created by the guys at Hot Cams about how to adjust and check the valves on your 4-stroke thumper. There are 2 videos, one is specific to the Honda CRF450R, and it’s single cam or “Uni-cam” the other is specific to the Yamaha YZ250F and its dual cam setup. The Honda’s (CRF250R & CRF450R) are the only ones with single cams. All other bikes are dual cam bikes. [Read more →]
