Again, I found yet another great video by Motosport.com about how to change a tire on your dirt bike. If you are like most people you take you tire to the local shop and pay anywhere from $10 (if you are lucky) on up to $30 to have a tire changed.
In reality, changing a tire is not very difficult IF you know all the tricks to making the job easier. Once you know them you’ll never (we’ll their are still those with money to blow that will pay for it — but those guys are either girls (sorry girls

Motosport.com has got quite a few very good video’s on how to do certain things to a motorcycle, and more specifically dirt bikes.
I found this really good video on how to tighten spokes. Although he uses a “torque wrench” type spoke wrench the same technique applies to using a standard spoke wrench. [Read more →]
A funny thing happened the other evening. I had decided to sell our LEM 50cc motorcycle as my boys are getting bigger, and I have 3 50cc motorcycles. Back in the day that was okay, but they are all a lot bigger, so they don’t enjoy riding the 50’s any more. I still need one bike for my 7 year old, but otherwise it’s time to upgrade.
So Saturday evening I went outside to clean the LEM and get some pictures of it to post it for sale on our local TV stations web site (sell.ksl.com). I was just touching up and re-sizing the photos of the LEM to post online, when my son called (he was at a friends) to ask if he could go with his good buddy to ride their 4-wheeler in a field near our home. I have been bugging my brother-in-law to call me and tell me when he’s going riding so I could come out and enjoy the fun and live vicariously though him (being bike-less just stinks).
Over the last few weeks he has been calling me and telling me when and where he would be riding, which up to this point has not been a good time for me at all. But this last week, I just had to go — I only had 30 minutes, but I needed a fix, and wanted to get some pictures and see the changes they made to the Jordan River OHV Park track (it’s under new management). Although it’s been a great supercross season, we are at the eve of the 2008 Motocross Nationals, and I couldn’t be more excited. Sure supercross is enjoyable to watch, but it’s just not the nationals. I prefer the Nationals 2 to 1 over Supercross any day of the week. Their is just something special about 30 minutes + 2 laps x 2 that is just awesome. [Read more →]
