Updated Info About the Easton EXP Motocross Handlebars

A little more than a month ago, I posted an entry titled “New Easton EXP Motocross Handlebars” which is obviously about the new handlebar offering from Easton.

Well, something happened today over on allthingsmoto.com that doesn’t happen very often. On the thread that was started about the new Easton EXP bars, we received a visit and some great additional information from what would appear to be an Easton employee (csack56) or at least someone in the “know” about the bars, which is really cool in my opinion. Excellent Video about Checking and Adjusting Valves

I just came across this really good video created by the guys at Hot Cams about how to adjust and check the valves on your 4-stroke thumper. There are 2 videos, one is specific to the Honda CRF450R, and it’s single cam or “Uni-cam” the other is specific to the Yamaha YZ250F and its dual cam setup. The Honda’s (CRF250R & CRF450R) are the only ones with single cams. All other bikes are dual cam bikes. [Read more →]

MX Riding Tip: Rutted Turns

If you ride a motorcycle on a motocross track very often at all, you’ve more than likely ran into… over… through… around and finally avoided completely… RUTS

Ruts in turns or rutted turns are one of the most challenging obstacles on a motocross track. I can not tell you how many times I’ve wrecked in the middle of a rutted turn. Ruts in turns are just plain tough to master.

That’s okay though, because if you are anything like me, that’s what I love about motocross — There is always something to learn/practice and finally master. [Read more →]

Motocross.com: How To: Change 4-Stroke Top End

One of my favorite web sites besides allthingsmoto.com is motocross.com. Recently I was checking out all there video’s and found a great “How To” video on changing the piston on a 4-Stroke motorcycle (KXF, RM-Z, YZF, CRF, SXF, etc.). Let me also state that I have replaced the piston on my old 2003 CRF450, so I know how to do it, and this really is a great, informational video. [Read more →]

2004 KX250F & RM-z250 Service Manual

I recently obtained the 2004 Kawasaki KX250F Service Manual and wanted to share. This service manual will also work for the Suzuki RM-z250 since they were both made by the KawaZuki connection from 2004-2005 (2006 for Suzuki) which means for each model year, they are identical with the exception of plastic color and graphics.

I am not very familiar with the KXF or RM-z, but my understanding is that this manual, though specifically for the 2004, will more than likely work for the 2005 since not very much changed between those two years other than BNG (Bold New Graphics). It will probably work for the 2006 Suzuki RM-z250, though I do not know for sure.

Revised: My Next Bike: 2008 Honda CRF450R

In one of my previous posts, I posted that I really wanted a Black 2008 Limited Edition CRF450R –> My Next Bike: 2008 Honda CRF450R

Well, I finally took the time to see if I could find a Black 2008 CRF450R. First off, only “Premier” Honda dealers got them — Premier means they sell only Honda products. Well, we have 3 Premier Honda dealers in our state, none of which are very close to my house.

I started calling and the first 2 did not have any left. The last and finally shop did, they had 1 Black Limited Edition CRF450R left. [Read more →]
